Sustainability
At Crossbrooks we take pride in the materials we use and how we use them. We recently helped create furniture for a sustainable school, using recycled yogurt pot and crushed mobile phone case worktops. In fact we looked at every product used down to the hinges and screws to see what impact they had on the environment. The results were very pleasing. The vast majority of our products are either sustainable or re-cyclyable. The panel materials we use are approved by the FSC - The Forest Stewardship Council. All timber products with this label are known to support responsible forest management.
Here are 5 Key points you should know about sustainability of furniture.
Correct material for the job
All items within the range have been designed to use a minimum of the correct material for the job; this is considered value engineering. All items are therefore extremely durable and use the very minimum of material.
Manufacturing Equipment
Our up to date manufacturing equipment uses the minimum of power. This equipment is designed so that it is capable of analysing the job in hand to keep waste down to a minimum.
Project Design
Our project designs consider the room/client requirements carefully and
we only offer the correct amount of furniture required.
Delivery
Products are carefully considered when being delivered. The most direct routes are always selected, and are carefully wrapped in re-useable
blankets instead of being packaged. Customers are notified of anticipated delivery dates and vehicles are always full, where possible.
Materials
All base materials are sourced locally where possible, and the quality of our units mean that they will last longer.
